An industry leader in the built environment, SAJO is in search of dynamic candidates for the position of PROJECT COORDINATOR for its MILLWORK PROCUREMENT division. This position is based in Montreal, Quebec. 

Position Summary

The Project Coordinator must assist the Project Manager and senior procurement staff, in the planning, implementation and execution of projects. He/she ensures that projects are built according to specifications and adhere to quality and safety standards. The Project Coordinator is responsible for monitoring the schedule and project costs, for liaising with client representatives, and suppliers, for tackling technical problems as they may arise and for maintaining the necessary documentation at all phases of the project.

Reporting directly to the Project Manager of the Millwork Procurement division, the Project Coordinator’s responsibility is to assist the Project Manager in accomplishing the following:


Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain cooperative working relationships with clients and vendors

  • Review and prepare bid documents
  • Read shop drawings and generate take-offs of millwork/metal and other components
  • Negotiate/award contracts with respective vendors
  • Assist client in developing design intent criteria to produce shop drawings
  • Monitor status and compliance of shop drawings with regards to timeliness and accuracy
  • Establish production schedules and revise schedules to reflect design changes, backlogs, or delays
  • Monitor work progress to assess compliance with quality standards
  • Coordinate production and shipping activities and ensure shipping schedules are respected
  • Monitor and track time at which components are produced/received/shipped
  • Document production and transportation schedules, delays, changes, and any other information pertinent to the operational flow of the project


Qualifications

  • Education: A university degree, collegial or technical diploma in the areas of engineering, architecture building sciences, construction technology or related disciplines.

  • Experience: Minimum of three (3) years of relevant experience. Knowledge and experience in the design, estimation, procurement, and production of high-end, custom-made millwork and metal fixtures, is considered an asset.
  • Technology: Must be proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, PowerPoint, Excel, and Word) as well as have ease in manipulating online forms and documents and internet applications. Knowledge of AutoCAD and PROCORE or other project management software, is an asset.
  • Languages: Must have good verbal and written skills in French and English.
  • General Skills: Must be detail-oriented, organized, and efficient with strong interpersonal skills and a commitment to high quality performance and optimal client satisfaction.
