Estimator – Retail / Residential

Projects may include mid to luxury retail, bespoke residential and hospitality.


  • Develop and build estimation department and processes within Miami office
  • Projects may not only be limited to the state of Florida
  • Work in tandem with the project manager to review project and project details
  • Review all tender documentation, plans, requirements etc to prepare comprehensive bid
  • Discuss and formulate project strategy with project manager and project director, including logistics plans, scopes of work, labour strategies etc.
  • Perform quality take offs and schedule of values. Create and issue scopes of work for each phase of construction
  • Go out to market with local trades, follow up and validate all pricing
  • Prepare final tender using company collateral, process and templates. Make educated decisions based on previous projects, cost models and current market trends.
  • Perform site visits as required (some travel may be required)
  • The estimator must have in-depth understanding of construction procedures and project management principles and systems. The estimator must have excellent management, negotiating and leadership skills as well as excellent organizational and time-management skills. Good verbal and written communication skills is needed.
  • Daily communication with site teams including superintendents, field project managers and other stakeholders.
  • Work closely with clients, architects, subcontractors and external parties to develop and maintain relationships that are aligned with the beliefs and values of the organization.
  • Formulating and completing targeted Requests for Proposals (RFPs), negotiating


  • Education: A university degree or technical diploma in the areas of management,
    engineering, architecture, building sciences or construction technology.
  • Experience: 4+ years of estimation experience in construction. Luxury retail and/or
    residential experience is a plus!
  • Experience with high-end architectural + millwork packages.
  • Project management software experience including MS Project, Procore etc.
